What does it cost to solo a glider?
Pick a club and answer one question — how often you can actually get to the airfield. The rates come from 18 clubs' own published price lists, and you can override any of them.

Be honest. Weather and duty rosters mean this is usually lower than you'd like.
Typically 30–100. Sixty is a fair middle for an adult starting from scratch.
Circuit work releases far lower than 2,000 ft and costs less. Assuming every pre-solo flight is a full-height tow overstates the total.

What this assumes, and what it can't know
Flights, not months. How long this takes in calendar time depends almost entirely on how often you turn up and how often the weather cooperates — which is why the input is flights per month and not "how long does it take".
Thirty to a hundred flights is a real range. Prior power time, age, how often you fly and how consistently you fly the same aircraft move this more than talent does. Anyone quoting you a single number for this is guessing.
Pattern tows cost less than soaring tows. The default assumes 45% of pre-solo flights are low circuit tows charged at about 65% of a 2,000 ft tow. That ratio is our assumption, drawn from the shape of clubs' published hookup-plus-per-100-ft formulas — not a figure any club publishes. Both are adjustable above.
What it leaves out entirely: your FAA written test and checkride, a logbook, a parachute if your club requires one, books, and the drive to the airfield. It also assumes rates hold steady, which over two or three years they will not.
It is not a club recommendation. A club with high dues and cheap tows is a bargain if you fly every weekend and poor value if you fly twice a summer. Change the flights-per-month figure and watch the ranking change.
