What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They help websites function properly, remember your preferences, and provide analytics data.
Cookies We Use
Essential Cookies
Our own code sets one cookie, and only when you use the contact or demo request form; the analytics cookies are listed separately below. It is a session cookie that carries a CSRF token — a security measure confirming your submission genuinely came from our form rather than another site. It holds no personal information, is not used for tracking, and is discarded when you close your browser. Because it is a security control, it cannot be disabled; blocking it will prevent our forms from accepting your submission.
The GliderOps club management platform, which club members log into separately, sets its own session cookies to keep you signed in.
Analytics
We use two analytics services. Umami counts page views. It does not set cookies and does not track individuals across websites; the data it collects is aggregated and anonymized, and no personally identifiable information is collected.
Microsoft Clarity records how visitors use our pages — clicks, scrolling and mouse movement — as session replays and heatmaps, so we can see where a guide loses its readers or a calculator confuses them. Anything typed into our contact and demo forms is masked in your browser and never sent. Clarity sets these cookies:
- _clck — first-party, one year. Keeps a Clarity ID and preferences, so a returning browser is recognized.
- _clsk — first-party, one day. Joins the pages of one visit into a single recording.
- CLID — third-party, set on clarity.ms, one year. Records the first time Clarity saw this browser on any website that uses Clarity.
While it records, Clarity also keeps a tab identifier, _cltk, in your browser's session storage, which is cleared when the tab closes.
Clarity's tag also tries to sync MUID, Microsoft's advertising identifier, through a pixel that passes through clarity.ms and bing.com and would set further cookies there (MUID, SM, MR, SRM_B and ANONCHK). Our website's security policy blocks that request, so none of those cookies are set from our pages.
Clarity is not loaded at all if your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, if you have turned session recording off in this browser, or on pages written for younger readers. In each case none of the cookies above are set.
Managing Cookies
You can control and manage cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:
- View what cookies are stored and delete them individually
- Block third-party cookies
- Block cookies from specific sites
- Block all cookies
- Delete all cookies when you close your browser

To opt out of Clarity without blocking anything else, use the switch above, which stops recording straight away and is remembered in this browser — though Safari and other WebKit browsers forget it after seven days without a visit; turn on Global Privacy Control, which Firefox, Brave and DuckDuckGo offer as a setting and other browsers through extensions; or block cookies and scripts from clarity.ms.
Third-Party Cookies
The only third-party cookie this website can cause to be set is Microsoft Clarity's CLID, listed above; browsers that block third-party cookies will not store it. Umami is cookieless, and the fonts and JavaScript libraries we load from third-party networks do not set cookies. Microsoft collects data through Clarity as an independent controller, as our Privacy Policy explains, and its use is described in the Microsoft Privacy Statement. Services integrated into the GliderOps platform itself (such as payment processors) may set their own cookies, as described in their respective privacy policies.
